Author and columnist Justin Smith says Ash Barty, who has announced her retirement from professional tennis, is “just what we needed in Australian tennis”.
“Not only because she’s been winning for us, but just the kind of person she is,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“What Ash Barty has got and what she gives us goes well and truly beyond sports.”
