New Year’s Eve parties have been given the green light in England as ministers announced there will be no new coronavirus restrictions imposed before the end of 2021. But the Cabinet minister, in a move that appeared to be echoed by the Prime Minister, left the door open for fresh measures to be potentially introduced in January. But Cellular Microbiology Professor Dr Simon Clark admits he was wrong to be a “doomsayer” about Covid. “There is far too much doom and gloom and denial of what the risks are.”
