Russia’s war has exposed Europe’s dependence on Russian energy as a grave geopolitical and strategic vulnerability. Europe is now rushing to reduce its reliance on Russian gas and looking for new suppliers to fulfill its energy needs. Canada has stepped up and is willing to export gas and oil to Europe in order to reduce the continent’s reliance on Russia. While Canada has stepped up to help its European allies, experts believe that the country faces enormous challenges in exporting energy.
