Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan has announced a business support package worth $67 million to help while the state battles the current Omicron outbreak, which has seen a rise in COVID infections.
It comes after WA recorded 610 new local COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
“Thankfully, due to our strong financial management, some of the best financial results of any jurisdiction in the world, my government is in a position to support our WA businesses through these uncertain times as we promised,” Mr McGowan said.
“So today, I’m proud to announce our level one COVID-19 business assistance package; an additional $67 million in business support for those affected by COVID-19.”
He said there will be eight programs to support businesses subject to level one public health measures implemented to slow the spread of COVID.
Mr McGowan explained what the business support package includes.
