Ukraine War
US President Biden and his German counterpart, Olaf Scholz, have agreed to send infantry fighting vehicles to help Ukraine fight Russia. While the US has said it will provide Bradley fighting vehicles, Germany will send Marder armoured personnel carriers to Kyiv. Germany will also supply Ukraine with a Patriot air defence system, in addition to one promised by the US in December. New western support will likely give Ukraine’s forces a chance to break through fortified Russian positions along the frontline. Experts see the decision to supply western armoured vehicles as significant, even if the US and Germany stopped short of sending tanks. Will Patriot Missile System, Marder & Bradley fighting vehicles change the battlefield scenario in Ukraine?
